Well, we did it. After nearly 11 years in the Bishop Arts District of beautiful Oak Cliff, TX, ( a mere flash in the pan to Lisa’s 35-year residency,) we decided in the spring of ’16 somehow to move to my family’s old farmhouse in the Catskill Eroded Plateau of New York State. After immense help from all quarters of our Dallas and music-loving support community, and one near-miracle after another, we now drive two green subaru foresters with NYS plates, are vigorously exploring the local open mike community of Woodstock, Shandaken, Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Nyack and other towns. We have reconnected with my brothers and sister, my daughter and grandkids, and we’re near enough to drive to NH to visit Lisa’s son. We’ve also reconnected with The Jack Hardy Songwriter’s Collective in the East Village.
Meantime, we’ve been looking for the dependable day gig; I’m re-acquainting myself with the local construction community, and Lisa’s developing her private lesson students, while cranking out yarn, hats, and fabulously original knit projects.
We have a few real gigs coming along: The Woodstock Library, The Pines Restaurant in Mt. Tremper, a house concert in Pittsburgh. Watch my Events Page for details.
